Why are retailers asking for Buldak by the carton?

Demand for Korean noodles in Europe has grown quickly. According to Korea JoongAng Daily (January 2026), South Korea's ramyeon exports passed 1.5 billion US dollars for the first time in 2025, up 21.9 %, and food exports to Europe reached 773.7 million US dollars, up 13.6 %. Those figures cover the whole category and every Korean brand, so they show direction rather than what your own shop will sell.

For a small shop, the practical question is not the size of the trend. It is how much space and cash to commit, which depends on the carton.

Which Buldak varieties are in stock, and how are they packed?

MDH stocks four items. Every one of them is sold in cartons of 40 packs.

Carbonara, 130 g. Item no. SAM-BUL-CAR, pink pouch with Korean lettering.

Creamy Carbonara, 140 g. Item no. SAM-BUL-CREAMCAR, EAN 8801073143203, in English packaging.

Quattro Cheese, 140 g. Item no. SAM-BUL-QTR-CHEE, EAN 8801073143463.

Rosé, 140 g. Item no. SAM-BUL-ROSE, EAN 8801073143722, with a heat scale on the pack.

A carton is a real commitment for a kiosk: 40 packs of one flavour is more than many small shops sell in a few days. Starting with one or two flavours and adding the others once the first carton has moved is usually safer than buying all four at once. To decide which flavour to start with, see our comparison of Buldak flavours.

Are halal certificates available for Buldak?

Yes. Halal certificates are available for all four Buldak items in our range, and we send them on request. Keep the certificate on file and check that it names the exact product, because certification is granted per product and production site.

Only advertise an item as halal when the document you hold covers that item. Our guide to halal certificates in wholesale explains what to look for, including the certifier, the product list and the validity date.

Is Buldak allowed in every EU country?

As of November 2026 we found no EU-wide ban on Buldak. National measures exist, however, and they concern specific products.

Denmark. On 11 June 2024 the food authority Fødevarestyrelsen recalled three varieties because of their capsaicin content. On 15 July 2024 it cleared 2x Spicy and Hot Chicken Stew, while Buldak 3x Spicy Hot Chicken stayed withdrawn. None of those three varieties is in our range, but shops in Denmark should know the distinction. The full timeline is in our guide to the Denmark recall.

Germany. Mandatory information must be in German under § 2 of the food information implementing regulation (LMIDV). On 24 April 2026 lebensmittelwarnung.de listed one batch of Buldak Carbonara 130 g, best before 12.11.2026, lot M6, because of elevated glycidyl fatty acid esters. That notice concerned a batch, not the variety.

Belgium. In April 2026 the food safety agency AFSCA announced the recall of one Buldak cup noodle batch for the same group of contaminants, according to The Brussels Times.

All other EU countries. Article 15 of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 requires mandatory food information in a language customers easily understand, and member states may prescribe their official languages. So the question to check in your country is mostly about the label. Rules can change, so ask your food authority or adviser when in doubt.

What does the packaging language mean for your shop?

The four items do not all carry the same languages, as the list above shows. That matters more than the flavour name. Before you sell in your country, check whether the mandatory information is in the required language, either printed or on a complete and correct sticker. Whoever applies a sticker is responsible for its content.

Our stock is intended for the EU market, but we do not promise a label in every language. Ask us about the exact item if your country has strict rules. Our guide on labelling imported snacks in the EU lists the mandatory particulars one by one.

Where does MDH get its Buldak?

We work directly with the manufacturers, and our goods are intended for the EU market. For your own files, keep the invoice and note the best-before date and lot number of each delivery, so that you can compare them with any official notice later.

How do you order Buldak from another EU country?

Register a trade account with your proof of business; approval usually takes 1–2 working days, and prices become visible afterwards. Orders are placed in full cartons with no minimum order value.

We deliver to all EU countries. If you hold a valid EU VAT ID, the invoice comes without German VAT. If you have no valid number, registration is still possible and 19 % German VAT applies. Collection from our Mettmann warehouse is possible too. For tax questions in your own country, ask your tax adviser.
