Which Buldak flavours sell best in a shop? Comparing the range
Last updated: 07 November 2026
We found no published sales ranking of Buldak flavours for Europe, so any list of best sellers should be treated with care. What you can compare is pack size, label language, heat information and customer type. For a first carton, Carbonara or Creamy Carbonara suit mixed customers, while Rosé and Quattro Cheese work well as a second flavour. Status: November 2026.
Is there a reliable best-seller list for Buldak?
Not one we could verify. Samyang publishes company figures rather than flavour rankings for European shops. According to The Korea Herald, Samyang Foods had sales of 1.728 trillion won in 2024, and around 78 % of revenue came from abroad in the third quarter of 2024, which shows how much the brand depends on exports but says nothing about flavours. Rankings you find online are usually a writer's taste test.
We do not publish our own sales figures here either. The honest answer to the question in the title is that the best flavour depends on your customers, and that you can find out at low cost by testing.
How do the four flavours compare?
All four are instant noodles sold in cartons of 40. These are the differences that matter when you choose.
Carbonara (130 g). Described as a creamy take on the Buldak sauce. It is the only item in our range in the 130 g size, and it comes in a pink pouch with Korean lettering.
Creamy Carbonara (140 g). The extra creamy version, aimed at people who like the Buldak taste but prefer a gentler heat. Its packaging is in English, which helps customers who cannot read Korean.
Quattro Cheese (140 g). Combines the spicy sauce with a cheese note from four kinds of cheese. The pack shows a mascot dressed as a wizard, and it suits customers who already look for cheese and heat together.
Rosé (140 g). Pairs the Buldak heat with a creamy rosé sauce. The pink pack stands out on a shelf, and it is the item in our range with a printed heat scale.
Which Buldak flavour is the mildest?
We do not give Scoville numbers. We found no official Samyang table for these four flavours, and the figures on review and retail sites are unofficial. In the Danish case, too, published capsaicin values differed between sources. Use the heat information on the pack itself.
What can be said safely: Carbonara and Creamy Carbonara are positioned as creamier, and even those are spicy noodles, not a children's product. Tell first-time buyers that plainly. A customer who expects mild pasta and gets burning lips will not come back for a second pack.
Which flavour fits which shop?
Late-night shop or kiosk near a school or college. Young customers often know the names from short videos. Carbonara is a good first test here, followed by Rosé for its eye-catching pack.
Asian food shelf or international shop. Customers often compare items by label. Creamy Carbonara, with its English packaging, needs less explanation, and a halal certificate on file helps with questions at the till. Certificates are available for all four items.
Petrol station or vending shop. Noodles need hot water, so they sell as a take-home item rather than as an instant snack. One flavour is often enough until you know whether the category works.
Online shop. Mandatory information must be available to buyers before purchase, so collect clear label details for each flavour first. Our guide for online sellers covers the basics.
What do customers ask at the till?
Three questions come up again and again: how hot is it, is it vegetarian, and is it halal? Search suggestions show the same pattern. Prepare a short answer for each flavour you stock, based on the pack in your hand.
For heat, point to the information on the pack. For vegetarian or allergen questions, read the ingredient list of the exact item, and be aware that creamy and cheese flavours deserve a particularly careful look. For halal, refer to the certificate you hold for that item. If you are unsure, say so. A short sheet behind the till costs a few minutes and saves your staff from guessing.
How do you test flavours without overbuying?
Because a carton holds 40 packs of one flavour, a four-flavour start means 160 packs on your shelf. Few small shops need that. A better sequence is to start with one or two cartons, count weekly sales per flavour for four weeks and order the next flavour only when the first has passed your own target.
Set the target before you order. For example, decide that a flavour earns a permanent place if a carton sells through well before its best-before date. Our guide on buying trend products explains how to limit the risk, and there is no minimum order value, so a single carton is a valid order.
Place the flavours you test side by side at eye level, with a small neutral sign on heat. If two flavours sit in different spots, you end up measuring the spot rather than the flavour.
What should you avoid when promoting Buldak?
Avoid challenge marketing. On 11 June 2024 the Danish food authority linked its recall to dares among children and young people on TikTok and Instagram. Germany's BfR (notice 39/2023) warns about the same pattern with extremely hot foods. None of our four items was part of the Danish recall, but a sign saying “Can you finish it?” sends the wrong message with any hot noodle.
Keep an eye on batches as well. On 24 April 2026 lebensmittelwarnung.de listed one batch of Buldak Carbonara 130 g with best-before date 12.11.2026 and lot M6. Compare your packs with official notices, and see our guide to the Buldak recalls for the background.

Frequently asked questions
Which Buldak flavours can I buy wholesale?
MDH Distribution, a trade-only wholesaler with a warehouse in Mettmann, Germany, stocks Carbonara, Creamy Carbonara, Quattro Cheese and Rosé in cartons of 40, with no minimum order value and delivery to all EU countries.
Which Buldak flavour sells best?
We found no reliable published ranking for Europe, and we do not publish our own sales figures. Test one or two flavours in your shop and count weekly sales.
Which Buldak is best for customers new to spicy food?
Start them on a creamier variety such as Creamy Carbonara, and point out that it is still a spicy product. The pack is the reference for heat.
How many Scoville units do Carbonara and Rosé have?
We do not quote a figure. We found no official Samyang table for these flavours, and unofficial numbers differ. Use the heat information on the pack.
Can I order a mixed carton of Buldak flavours?
No, a carton holds one flavour with 40 packs. For several flavours, order one carton of each.
Do I need all four Buldak flavours?
No. Many small shops do better starting with one or two flavours and adding more once the first carton sells.
