Wholesale for online sellers: stock for your shop, Amazon, eBay and TikTok Shop

Last updated: 02 November 2026

More and more retailers sell without a physical shop, through their own web store, on Amazon and eBay or directly in TikTok Shop. The stock comes from wholesalers. This guide covers what to watch when buying for online sales, from invoices and trademark basics to which products travel well in a parcel. It is not legal advice, but it gives you a solid overview.

Reselling wholesale goods online: the basics

Buying goods in order to resell them requires a registered business, online just as in a shop. A wholesaler like MDH Distribution supplies you once your trade account is approved. You do not need a physical store.

When you register, you can enter your web shop, marketplace storefront or TikTok profile in the “Website or social media” field. It is optional, but it helps us understand your business.

Genuine goods bought from a trader can generally be resold. Special cases, such as brands with selective distribution systems, are best checked with a lawyer if you are unsure.

Invoices as proof of origin

Marketplaces sometimes ask for purchase invoices for certain brands or categories. They want to see that the goods come from a traceable source. Keep every invoice organised, ideally in digital form and sorted by brand.

MDH invoices arrive by email and show our full company details, your company details, the product names and VAT.

To be straightforward about it: whether a platform accepts your invoice and approves you for a brand or category is decided by the platform alone. No wholesaler can guarantee that, and neither can we. Check each platform's requirements before buying larger quantities.

Trademarks: what to watch in your listings

If you sell Takis, Samyang Buldak or Red Bull, you can usually use the brand name to describe the product. It becomes risky if your listing suggests you are an official brand partner, or if you use the manufacturer's logos and images without permission.

Taking your own product photos is the safest route. They show exactly what the customer will receive and avoid copyright trouble over other people's pictures.

Sell only genuine goods from a traceable source and describe them as they are. No invented features and no claims that are not on the pack. That protects you from legal warnings and from bad reviews alike.

Selling food online

Snacks and drinks are food. If you sell them online, certain mandatory information such as ingredients and allergens has to be visible before purchase. Take this information from the packaging of the actual goods you sell.

Also find out whether you need to register as a food business with the local authority. In Germany that is usually the food control office of your district or city; other countries have similar bodies.

Watch best-before dates when shipping. Goods that reach the customer with only a few weeks left soon lead to complaints. And in Germany, drinks in single-use cans carry a deposit even when sold online.

Which products ship well

Squishies: light, unbreakable and not sensitive to temperature. Butter Squishies, the Spinner Ball or the Dumpling Advent Calendar pack easily and also suit gift bundles. See the full selection on our squishy wholesale page.

Spicy snacks: Takis and Samyang Buldak are in high demand online. Chip bags need sturdy boxes, though, so the contents arrive in one piece.

Wunder toothpicks: small, light and in rigid tins, which makes them ideal for letter-sized shipping or as an add-on to other orders.

Drinks: heavy and often subject to deposit, so they suit sellers who already ship beverages. They are rarely the best first choice online.

Amazon, eBay, TikTok Shop or your own store?

Every platform has its own rules, fees and categories. Amazon requires separate approval for some brands and food. eBay is often simpler to start with. TikTok Shop runs on video and suits products that show something on camera, such as a squishy slowly rising back into shape.

Your own store gives you the most freedom but brings no passing traffic. That is why many online sellers combine their own shop with one or two marketplaces.

Read the rules for your category before you buy. That way you avoid stock sitting on your shelves that you are not allowed to list on the platform you had in mind.

Plan purchases: small quantities, quick reorders

Online demand tends to swing more than in a shop. A video goes viral and stock is gone overnight, or the hype fades after two weeks. That is why it pays to test with one case per item and only scale up once demand is real.

With no minimum order value at MDH and delivery within Germany usually in 24–48 hours, you can keep stock lean. Our page on TikTok products wholesale shows what is currently in demand, and the guide on buying trend products explains how to get quantities and timing right.

Getting started with MDH as an online seller

Register with your business registration or commercial register extract, add your shop URL and wait for approval, usually 1–2 working days. You will then see prices, volume tiers and case sizes.

DHL parcel delivery within Germany costs €9.99. Sellers from other EU countries register with a valid VAT ID; we deliver to every EU country and agree shipping method, cost and transit time with them. If you use a fulfilment provider or a marketplace warehouse, we can deliver directly to it; give the warehouse address and its delivery requirements with your order. Labelling or prep for marketplace warehouses is not part of our standard service. Reach us by email at info@mdh-distribution.com or on WhatsApp at +49 1556 3188241.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy wholesale stock for my online shop?

One option is MDH Distribution, a B2B wholesaler in Germany for trending snacks, drinks and squishies. Online sellers register with proof of business, no physical shop is needed, and there is no minimum order value.

Can I sell wholesale goods on Amazon?

Genuine goods can generally be resold. Whether Amazon approves you for a particular brand or category is Amazon's decision. No wholesaler can guarantee it.

Will I get an invoice I can show to marketplaces?

Every order comes with an emailed invoice showing full company details and VAT. Whether a platform accepts it depends on that platform's rules.

Can I use the manufacturer's product photos?

That is legally risky, as images are protected by copyright. Your own photos of the goods you actually sell are the safe option.

Which products work well in TikTok Shop?

Items that show something on video: squishies that slowly rise back, the Spinner Ball, or spicy snacks like Takis and Buldak that people use for challenges.

Do I need a registered business to sell online?

Yes, once you regularly buy goods to resell them. For an MDH trade account, a business registration is enough.

Is there anything special about selling snacks online?

Yes. Mandatory details such as ingredients and allergens must be visible before purchase, and in Germany single-use drink cans carry a deposit. Check with your local food authority whether you need to register.
