Typical customers in the Czech Republic

A večerka is a small grocery with long opening hours, often until late at night. Customers buy on impulse, so new drinks and snacks in the fridge or at the till get noticed fast. A trafika sells newspapers, tobacco and small items in a tight space. Petrol station shops (čerpací stanice), toy shops and online sellers round out the picture.

Our customers are businesses only. Sole traders with a trade licence (živnostník) are just as welcome as companies such as an s.r.o.

Online sellers and vending machine operators from the Czech Republic can open a trade account too. Our page on stocking a snack vending machine explains which items suit machines.

Fridge, till, shelf: what we offer Czech shops

For the fridge, choose drinks that are not in every supermarket: Red Bull special editions such as Glacier Ice Raspberry and Iced Vanilla Berry, LOTTE Milkis in melon or banana, and the Korean fruit drinks Cantabile Ade in flavours like blueberry and mango. All drinks are listed on our drinks wholesale page.

Check the case sizes for drinks: Red Bull Glacier Ice Raspberry comes in cases of 24 cans, LOTTE Milkis in 30 and Cantabile Ade in as many as 50 units. A small večerka may want to start with one or two flavours and expand after the first sell-through.

Takis work well on the shelf, and squishies at the till: the Butter Squishy, the large 400 g Butter Squishy, the Spinner Ball or the Ball Crunchy Squishy. In a small trafika it pays to show a few eye-catching items clearly rather than squeezing in many variants.

For the run-up to Christmas: on 5 December, Mikuláš brings small gifts to Czech children. Squishies and sweets fit nicely. Because the route and date for shipping to the Czech Republic are set before you order, plan a few weeks ahead.

Registering with DIČ and a register extract

Sign up through our B2B registration form. Choose the Czech Republic and enter your DIČ. For EU trade it starts with CZ, followed by 8 to 10 digits.

As proof, upload an extract from the Obchodní rejstřík (commercial register). Sole traders use an extract from the Živnostenský rejstřík (trade licence register). Either works as a PDF or photo.

Your DIČ is validated automatically via VIES. It only shows as valid there if your business is registered for VAT in the Czech Republic. If in doubt, check it yourself on the VIES portal first. Your account is usually approved within 1–2 working days.

VAT on deliveries to the Czech Republic

With a valid DIČ, no German VAT is charged. We issue a net invoice for an intra-community supply, and you account for the acquisition in the Czech Republic (reverse charge). Without a valid number, we charge 19% German VAT.

Our guide to buying with a VAT ID explains VIES and reverse charge step by step. Please clarify the bookkeeping in the Czech Republic with your tax adviser (daňový poradce).

How the goods get to the Czech Republic

Once approved, you see prices and case sizes. Put together your list and send it to us by WhatsApp or email along with the delivery address. We reply with a parcel or freight proposal including cost and transit time. Only then do you place the order.

Retailers with their own transport can also collect from our Mettmann warehouse. Please agree the pickup time with us in advance; for pallets in particular, this helps us prepare the goods.

Our products are intended for the EU market and sourced through official channels, but not every pack carries the local language, so check the Czech labelling rules before selling, for example whether Czech information is required on the label. If you need documents such as CE declarations for squishies or halal certificates for Buldak, or have special quantity wishes, just ask. Neighbouring countries and other markets are listed under wholesale in Europe.
