Which Croatian shops buy from us?

Our range is made for small sales areas: the kiosk and the trafika with newspapers and tobacco, the neighbourhood dućan or mini market, shops at a benzinska postaja, toy shops and online sellers. Demand on the coast swings sharply: in summer many holidaymakers come in who know brands like Takis or Buldak from social media.

Which products fit, and how do we source them?

In a kiosk fridge, Red Bull special editions, LOTTE Milkis and Cantabile Ade stand out because supermarkets rarely carry them. At the till, Takis, Butter Squishies and Wunder toothpicks in their display need very little room.

We work directly with manufacturers, for Takis with Barcel, and part of our squishy range is produced to our own order. CE declarations of conformity and test reports for toys are on file, and we send them on request.

What has applied to energy drinks since June 2026?

Croatia has amended its Trade Act (Narodne novine 59/26, in force since 17 June 2026). Retailers may no longer sell energy drinks to anyone under 18. If you use self-service checkouts or other automated tills, please check the rules that apply to them on site. According to a summary of the law, online sellers must verify age technically and enter a register.

For Red Bull this means planning age checks at the till and rethinking any placement next to children's sweets. Check the details in the legal text or with your adviser; this is not legal advice.

How do you register, and what is the PDV ID for?

Enter your PDV ID in the registration form: HR plus the 11 digits of your OIB. For an invoice without German VAT the OIB alone is not enough, because the HR prefix stands for the VAT registration that VIES must show as valid. With a valid number we invoice without German VAT. Without one you can still register, and 19% German VAT applies.

Companies upload an izvadak iz sudskog registra, an extract from the court register kept by the commercial courts. Craft businesses and sole traders are not listed there and use their proof from the obrtni registar. Approval normally takes 1–2 working days. More on tax is in our guide to buying with a VAT ID.

What should you know about labels, deposits and delivery?

Under Article 3 of Croatia's food information act, food details must appear in Croatian in Latin script; multilingual labels are allowed. Missing details can lead to a sales ban or a recall. We do not promise that every label is in Croatian, so check each item before you sell it.

Drinks fall under the povratna naknada: EUR 0.10 per bottle or can since January 2025, according to the environment fund FZOEU. Shops over 200 m² must take containers back, and smaller ones may. From 1 January 2027 the scheme is due to cover composite cartons and containers under 0.2 litres; a trade source gives producers and importers a notification deadline of 18 December 2026. Ask the fund which duties apply to you. For each order we decide whether the German deposit is charged or taken out.

You order from one full carton, with no minimum order value. We deliver by parcel or pallet, and collection from Mettmann is possible.
