Wholesale for petrol station shops: trending items for the till, the fridge and the snack shelf

Who shops at a petrol station

The customer mix changes throughout the day: commuters early in the morning, tradespeople at lunch, truck drivers on long routes, families heading off on holiday and, in the evening, young people for whom the station is the nearest open shop. What they share is a lack of time.

Good add-on items for a station are therefore instantly recognisable, fit in one hand and need no explanation. The more striking the packaging, the more likely someone grabs it who only came in to pay.

Check your contract first, then add to your range

Many station shops source their core range through fixed supply channels set out in their lease or agency agreement. Check in advance whether, and to what extent, you may also buy from other suppliers. Independent stations usually have more freedom here.

Think of MDH as a supplement for products often missing from the standard range: trending items from social media, drinks from international brands and impulse goods. With no minimum order value, you can test single cases without rearranging your stockroom.

The fridge: special editions and small packs

Energy drinks belong in every station’s chiller. With Red Bull special editions such as Glacier Ice Raspberry, you offer a flavour not every shop carries, and it is one of our most requested items. More editions are listed under Red Bull wholesale.

For families with children, the 200 ml AMIGO drinks work well, for example Fruit Drink Blueberry or Ice Tea Lemon, both also among our most requested items. LOTTE Milkis in a 250 ml can is an option for customers who want to try something unusual.

At the till: toothpicks, Takis and toys

Flavoured Wunder toothpicks are a good fit for the station till. They come in a 40-piece and a 300-piece display, in flavours such as Icebonbon, Peach-Ice, Grape-Mint or Cinnamon-Orange. Drivers taking a break like to take some along for the road. Flavours and displays in detail: Wunder toothpicks wholesale.

Takis in Blue Heat, Fuego and Queso Volcano make a spicy snack for the journey. For children waiting at the till, the Spinner Ball or a Butter Squishy are typical take-away items. In our experience, items like these do especially well in the school holidays, when many families are on the road. All flavours are on the Takis wholesale page.
