Takis wholesale in Europe: varieties, carton sizes and how to order
Last updated: 07 November 2026
EU retailers can buy Takis wholesale from MDH Distribution in Germany: Fuego, Blue Heat and Queso Volcano, each in 100 g bags with 18 bags per carton and no minimum order value. We work directly with the manufacturer Barcel, our stock is intended for the EU market and we deliver to all EU countries. Status: November 2026.
Which Takis flavours can retailers buy?
Takis are rolled tortilla chips made by Barcel, a company of Grupo Bimbo. The brand sells different flavours in different markets, so a name you see in a video from the US may not exist in a version for Europe. MDH currently stocks three items, all as 100 g bags.
Takis Fuego has a chilli and lime seasoning and comes in a purple bag. Item no. TAK-FUEGO, EAN 8412600019672.
Takis Blue Heat combines a hot chilli seasoning with chips in a striking blue colour. Item no. TAK-BLUEHEAT, EAN 8412600047484.
Takis Queso Volcano pairs cheese with chilli. Item no. TAK-QUESO-VOLCAN, EAN 8412600019689.
On the heat scale printed on the bag, Fuego and Blue Heat sit at the top and Queso Volcano sits in the middle. That gives you an easy way to guide a customer: start with Queso Volcano if the shopper is unsure, move to the other two for those who ask for real heat.
How many bags are in a carton?
All three flavours come in cartons of 18 bags, which is 1.8 kg of product per carton. You order whole cartons, and each carton holds one flavour. The smallest possible order is therefore one carton of one flavour; one carton of each flavour gives you 54 bags.
For a first order, the sum is simple. If a shop expects to sell six bags of one flavour a week, a carton lasts three weeks. That figure is only an example for the calculation, not a sales forecast. Put your own expected weekly sales into it and check the result against the best-before date on the carton you receive. Our guide to best-before dates in wholesale shows how to do that.
What is the recommended retail price of Takis?
The recommended retail price (RRP) for a 100 g bag of Takis is €1.79 (as of November 2026). It is a non-binding recommendation for your shop, so you set your own shelf price. Trade prices are shown only after your business account has been approved.
How do you make sure Takis are EU stock?
Takis are legal in the EU, but not every pack on the market was made for it. Two published German cases show the risk. In February 2024 the official portal lebensmittelwarnung.de carried a warning on Takis Fuego made in Mexico for a US company: the colours E 110 and E 129 lacked the mandatory warning, allergens were not highlighted and the label was in English only. In October 2024 the North Rhine-Westphalia state office LANUV reported goods in a warehouse in Monheim am Rhein. According to the office they contained E 110, which is not authorised for this category of snacks, and their sale was prohibited.
Germany requires mandatory food information in German under § 2 of its food information implementing regulation, and other member states can set their own language rules under Article 15 of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011. Before you buy from anyone, look at the back of the pack: an EU business name and address, your language, highlighted allergens, grams rather than ounces. The full checklist is in our guide on recognising EU-compliant Takis.
Where does MDH get its Takis?
We work directly with the manufacturer Barcel. Our Takis are intended for sale in the EU single market, and the EAN codes listed above let you compare what you receive with what you ordered.
We do not claim that every label meets the rules of every EU country. Check the requirements where you sell. If you need a photo of the back label or details for a specific country, ask us before you order. We make no halal claim for Takis; if you need a statement or a certificate, we ask the manufacturer for what is available.
How should you answer customer questions about Takis?
Shoppers often ask whether Takis are vegan, gluten-free or halal. Search suggestions show the same questions. Answer them from the printed ingredient list and allergen information of the exact flavour in your hand, because recipes differ between flavours and between markets. An answer that was true for a US pack seen online tells you nothing about the bag on your shelf.
If the label does not settle the matter, say so rather than guess. For staff, a short note at the till with the three flavours and where to find the allergen information is enough. Keep a photo of each back label, as a customer with an allergy may ask after the last bag has gone.
Where do Takis work best in a shop?
Takis are an impulse snack. Kiosks, late-night shops and petrol station shops usually place them near the till or beside canned drinks, and many customers arrive already knowing the name from social media. Vending operators should read our notes on trend products for vending machines first, because bag size and slot width decide what fits.
Think about younger customers too. Germany's Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR, notice 39/2023) warns that children react particularly sensitively to extremely hot foods and advises caution with eating dares. A neutral note on heat works better than a challenge sign, and it spares your staff awkward conversations with parents.
How do you order from outside Germany?
Create a trade account with your business registration or the equivalent extract from your national register. Approval usually takes 1–2 working days. We sell to businesses only, not to private customers.
With a valid EU VAT ID, confirmed through VIES, we invoice without German VAT. Without a valid number you can still register, and 19 % German VAT applies. We deliver to all EU countries; within Germany, orders usually ship within 24–48 hours, and you can also collect from our warehouse in Mettmann. Our guide to buying with a VAT ID explains the tax side in plain words; for your own case, ask your tax adviser.

How many bags of Takis are in a carton?
18 bags of 100 g each, for all three flavours we stock. You order full cartons, one flavour per carton.
What is the RRP of Takis 100 g?
The recommended retail price is €1.79 per bag as of November 2026. It is non-binding, and you decide your own shelf price.
Can I mix Takis flavours in one carton?
No, a carton holds one flavour. To offer all three, order one carton of each, which comes to 54 bags. There is no minimum order value, so one carton of a single flavour is also fine.
Do I need a VAT ID to buy Takis from Germany?
You need a registered business. With a valid EU VAT ID we invoice without German VAT; without one you can still register, and 19 % German VAT applies.
Are Takis banned in Europe?
No. Takis made for the EU market are sold legally. In 2024, however, German authorities warned about goods from Mexico and prohibited the sale of one consignment; the goods had labelling faults or contained a colour not authorised for these snacks.
Are Takis halal?
We make no such claim. If you need a statement or certificate for a flavour, ask us and we will request what the manufacturer can provide.
