B2B wholesale marketplaces in Europe compared for small shops

Last updated: 02 November 2026

Small shops in Europe can choose between two kinds of B2B marketplace: brand platforms such as Faire, Ankorstore and Creoate, where independent brands sell to retailers with per-brand minimums and payment terms, and supplier platforms such as Qogita and zentrada, where wholesalers and distributors offer goods. Which suits you depends on your range, how you want to pay and how often you reorder the same products. All conditions below come from the platforms' own published information and carry a date, because they change often.

What is a B2B wholesale marketplace?

A wholesale marketplace is a platform on which many suppliers sell to registered business buyers. You open one account, browse a large catalogue, order from several suppliers in one basket and often get services a single small supplier cannot offer, such as deferred payment or free returns on a first order.

Platforms earn money from commissions paid by sellers, from membership fees or both. For buyers that usually means joining costs little or nothing, but prices and minimums are set by each supplier and shipping is often charged per supplier. The conditions per brand matter more than the headline offer.

The platforms below were chosen because they address small shops in Europe. The list is neither complete nor a ranking, and we have no business relationship with any of them.

Faire: independent brands with payment terms

Faire began in the US and later expanded to the UK and continental Europe. In a press release dated 6 August 2025, it announced its expansion to 14 further European countries, including Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and the three Baltic states. The retailer benefits it highlighted were net 60 payment terms and free returns on opening orders.

Minimum order values are set by each brand, and most sellers are independent brands offering their own products. The catalogue therefore leans towards gifts, home goods, stationery, accessories and speciality food from smaller makers. Shops that mainly reorder well-known international snack or drink brands should check whether those brands are listed at all.

Ankorstore: low minimums per brand

Ankorstore connects European brands with independent retailers. In its retailer information published on 21 May 2024, it stated a minimum order of €100 per brand, payment terms of up to 60 days for eligible retailers, free shipping on first orders with most brands and access to more than 30,000 European brands. A paid Plus membership offered longer payment terms and further benefits.

That model suits shops that want a few items each from many small labels, such as concept stores, gift shops and delis. As with Faire, the sellers are mainly brands rather than wholesalers of established international products.

Creoate: costs depend on the shipping route

Creoate is a wholesale marketplace whose delivery page lists shipping routes for sellers in the UK, the EU and the US. That page, checked on 2 November 2026, shows how much the route matters: UK retailers buying from UK sellers get free shipping from £300 per brand, otherwise a flat fee of £10.99, while EU retailers buying from UK sellers pay a fixed fee between €58.50 and €91 with no free-shipping threshold. Minimum order values or quantities are set by each seller.

According to its help centre, permanent brick-and-mortar shops can receive 60-day payment terms at Creoate's discretion; online shops are assessed case by case. EU retailers should also remember that goods from the UK are imports, with customs formalities, import VAT and possibly duties.

Qogita: branded goods from wholesale suppliers

Qogita follows a different model: it is a marketplace for wholesale suppliers of branded goods rather than for brands themselves. Its help centre states that buyers must be a registered business operating an online, physical or marketplace store, and that EU buyers must provide a valid VAT number. According to the platform, each supplier sets its own minimum order value, which is shown on the product page.

On its homepage (checked 2 November 2026), Qogita names more than 600 vetted suppliers and says EU orders ship within 3 days. The main categories are fragrance, beauty, health and household goods. For drugstore-style ranges that is relevant; snacks, imported drinks and trend toys are not its focus.

zentrada: a network for trend and promotional goods

zentrada describes itself as an online network for wholesale purchasing in Germany and Europe. Buyers can choose between a free Basic membership and a paid Premium membership. On the supplier side, the network addresses importers and wholesalers with stock in Europe and ranges of 200 to 5,000 products, and it states that more than 300,000 retailers across Europe use it. These figures come from undated information pages.

Because the sellers are traders rather than brands, the offer is closer to classic wholesale: trend items, seasonal and promotional goods, often with small minimum quantities. Shops looking for frequently changing novelties may find this model more suitable than a brand platform.

Questions to ask before your first order

Minimum per what? A minimum of €100 per brand adds up to €500 if you want products from five brands. Compare the minimum with the number of suppliers you really need.

Shipping per supplier. Free-shipping thresholds usually apply per brand or seller, not per basket. Many small orders from different sellers can cost more in shipping than the goods are worth.

Where the goods ship from. A supplier in the UK or the US means import formalities. A supplier inside the EU and your VAT ID mean an intra-Community acquisition without customs; our guide on invoices and proof of delivery in EU purchases explains the documents.

Labels and responsible operators. For food and toys, ask whether labels are in your country's language and who the responsible manufacturer or importer is. A marketplace listing does not replace that check.

Invoices. Make sure you receive a proper invoice from the actual seller, with your VAT ID where relevant. You need it for your VAT return and, if you sell online, often for marketplace checks.

When is buying directly from a wholesaler the better choice?

Platforms are useful for discovering new brands and testing them with small orders. If you reorder the same products every week, such as snacks, drinks or trend toys for a kiosk or a snack shop, a direct account with a wholesaler is often simpler: one supplier, one invoice, one shipment and no per-brand minimums.

MDH Distribution is such a wholesaler, with a warehouse in Mettmann, Germany. We sell only to businesses, with no minimum order value; you order full cases of products such as Takis, Samyang Buldak, LOTTE Milkis, Red Bull special editions and squishies. EU businesses with a valid VAT ID are invoiced without German VAT, and we deliver to other EU countries too, with shipping method, cost and transit time agreed with you. Frequently asked questions

Where can a small shop buy wholesale in Europe without high minimums?

On brand marketplaces such as Faire or Ankorstore, where brands set their own, often low, per-brand minimums, or directly from a wholesaler with no minimum order value, such as MDH Distribution in Germany, which sells full cases to registered businesses.

Do retailers pay to use Faire or Ankorstore?

The platforms mainly earn money from the sellers. Retailers should still check shipping costs and minimums per brand; Ankorstore also offered a paid Plus membership with extra benefits.

Which marketplace is best for snacks and drinks?

There is no single answer. Brand platforms list many speciality food makers, Qogita concentrates on beauty and household goods, and zentrada on trend and promotional goods. For established snack and drink brands that you reorder often, a direct wholesaler account is usually simpler.

Do I need a VAT number to buy on B2B marketplaces?

You always need a registered business. Some platforms, such as Qogita, require a valid VAT number from EU buyers. Check the requirements of each platform before you apply.

What does net 60 mean?

You pay for an order up to 60 days later, so you can sell part of the goods before the invoice is due. The platform decides who is eligible and how high the limit is.

Is buying from a UK seller different for a shop in the EU?

Yes. Goods from the UK are imports into the EU, so customs formalities, import VAT and possibly duties apply, and shipping fees are often higher.

Can I combine marketplaces and a direct wholesaler?

Yes. A practical split is to test new brands on a platform and to buy regular bestsellers from a wholesaler you reorder from every week.
