Wholesale Asian snacks and drinks: Buldak, Milkis and Cantabile

Why an Asian corner makes sense

Korean music and TV are hugely visible among young people in Europe, and with them comes curiosity about Korean food and drinks. Set up a small shelf with noodles and drinks, and your shop becomes the go-to place for these customers.

You do not need much space. One shelf for noodles, one fridge compartment for cans and pouches and a peg rail with gummies are enough to get started.

Buldak: four varieties, each with its own character

We stock Samyang Buldak as Carbonara in a pink pouch with Korean lettering, Creamy Carbonara in English packaging, Quattro Cheese with a mascot dressed as a wizard, and Rosé with a creamy rosé sauce. The Rosé pack includes a scale showing the heat level.

Many customers start with Carbonara because it is seen as creamier, then move on to the other varieties. Full details are on our Buldak wholesale page.

Drinks: Milkis and Cantabile Ade

LOTTE Milkis is a fizzy soft drink with a milk and yoghurt note in a white 250 ml can. Besides Original, we carry Strawberry, Melon and Banana. Our Milkis wholesale page has tips on choosing flavours.

Cantabile Ade are fruit drinks in 230 ml stand-up pouches, each flavour with its own penguin design: Blueberry, Double Mango, Strawberry and Watermelon. A case holds 50 pouches. The light pouches take up little room in the fridge and look very different from cans and bottles.

The sweet addition: Toppie

Spicy noodles call for something sweet. Toppie gummies in strawberry, pineapple, apple and grape come in colourful stand-up bags with a window and add a splash of colour next to Milkis and Cantabile.

For smaller portions, add Toppie Jelly Fruits, jelly sweets in 40 g servings.

Thanks to the euro hole on the Toppie bags, you can also hang them on a peg rail right next to the drinks fridge. That way noodles, a drink and something sweet are all within one reach.

Setting up your Asian corner

One possible starter mix: a case of Buldak Carbonara, a case of a second Buldak variety, a case of Milkis Original and a case of Cantabile. Within a few weeks you will see which direction your customers prefer.

Place noodles and drinks side by side, as Buldak buyers often grab a drink at the same time. A small sign pointing out the heat level helps first-timers choose.

Keep chilling in mind too. In our experience, customers prefer Milkis and Cantabile cold. If fridge space is tight, put part of the stock unchilled next to it and top up the fridge regularly.
